In early July, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was coming to an end when shots resonated in Dallas. Mayhem ensued and by the end of the night, nine Dallas police officers were hurt and five lost their lives.
Within a few days, Dallas business owners and community leaders joined forces to raise money for the police officers and their families. Dos Jefes, tapas bar, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the money raised from the dinner and silent auction they held were given to the fallen and injured officers and their relatives.
General Manager Tony Polendo of Calvlery Service Experts was more than honored to get involved.
“I was out for my birthday dinner less than a mile away from the horror that occurred that evening,” Polendo said. “That night struck a chord for me. As a military veteran, I have complete and total respect for any individual who wears a uniform in an effort to protect and serve our community.”
“When my associate contacted me to ask if we would support this great cause by merely attending, I wanted to go beyond and not only attend, but donate our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team collaborated with Lennox to auction off a new HVAC system with installation included at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Check out the pictures below of the installation.
“I am both thankful and appreciative for the possibility to have participated in such a wonderful event,” Polendo said.
