-
Is a whole-house water filter system worth the cost?
If you live in an area with more minerals in the water supply, a whole-house water filtration system can be the perfect solution. Putting in a water treatment system will be particularly helpful for those living near construction, mining or agriculture industries.
-
Should I get a home water treatment system?

-
How does a home water treatment system work?
Many home filtration products implement different strategies for filtering out pollutants and sediment. This can mean mechanical filtration, which means sediment and other particles are physically stopped by the treatment system. Mechanical filtration may be used in tandem with a reverse osmosis membrane, suitable for organic chemicals and microorganisms. A few water treatment solutions even use ultraviolet light for its sanitizing properties.
-
How do water softeners work?
Water softeners utilize a tank filled with special beads of resin to attract and trap the minerals that cause hard water, such as calcium and magnesium. Hard water enters the tank, where minerals are gradually absorbed by the beads. The now-softened water is then available for use. These beads won’t always work as efficiently as they did at the beginning, so a salt solution is pumped into the tank. During the natural process of sodium ion exchange, the sodium molecules push mineral buildup back out from the beads before they are drained from your water supply entirely.
-
What’s the best method for treating water at home?
Your ideal water treatment system can be determined by factors like where you live and your daily water usage. Anyone with chronic health problems may benefit from a whole-home filtration system, while anyone living in an area with hard water may prioritize a softener system. The Expert plumbers at Bryant Heating & Cooling Service Experts can help you determine which product(s) would be perfect for your plumbing.

What is a Diagnostic Fee?
A diagnostic fee, also known as a service call fee, is a typical charge levied by HVAC companies once someone is called out to your home to diagnose any and all problems with your furnace or air conditioner. This fee covers the technician’s time, knowledge and travel expenses associated with determining the underlying cause of the problem. It’s basically a service fee for the technician’s professional assessment to find what went wrong.
It’s similar to visiting your doctor. They must do some preliminary tests or an examination to help figure out what’s wrong before suggesting treatment. In the same way, the technician we send must inspect your HVAC equipment to decide on the best repair or maintenance steps.
